Reader Reviews of The Thief of Sacred
"I just finished reading your book. And I have only one 3-letter word that would describe it: WOW! Let me just say that political intrigue is not normally what I choose to read. That being said, as I dug deeper into the story, I found I was hooked. You created characters that I really cared about, and you wove plot lines masterfully, taking unexpected turns all along the way. Oh, and if you've written any other books, would you mind letting me know?" -B. Sedloff,
"I loved this book! I finished it within 24 hours." -G. Conley,
"To tell you I enjoyed your book would be an understatement. As I read it, I realized that you captured the embodiment of an ideal President (man OR woman) that I believe this country yearns for (I know I do). It seemed like I was right there in the room with Zella and loved that she did not have the cliché female weaknesses that

"The Thief of Sacred is an engaging novel that I couldn't put down! The tapestry of characters, events, and plot twists were so vividly portrayed that I was instantly enveloped in this drama. From start to finish this novel kept me on the edge of my seat, and the parallels with the current global political climate are unnerving. I can't wait for the sequel!" -B. Levin,
"This is a great book. I loved it. I'm recommending it to my book club." -B. Meador,
"Jacqueline Lloyd's smashing tale The Thief of Sacred is a richly woven page turner; I could not put this book down. This compelling tale pulled me into the settings and nailed my thumbs to the pages. I am amazed at how the political and structural lay of the land are disclosed while keeping me completely captivated. I truly enjoyed this modern day heroic tale - extremely well written and conveying eye opening political intrigue. I can't wait for more from Zella Brooks. This is the book to read!" -L. Levine,
"The Thief of Sacred is a twisting, turning journey of people with power who think they know best. The ending was a twist that I didn't quite see coming. I barely had put the book down when I suggested this book to several associates of mine." -B. White,
"Like a really good movie, this story sticks with you long after you finish the book. I still think about the characters, especially Zella's strength and leadership." -K. Mehelic,
"A story for the time that is intimately personal, forcefully political, realistically international, and frighteningly plausible. It will be the unusual reader who comes away from this experience without wishing it were possible to meet the principal players in this captivating drama, if nothing else, to cheer them on!" -James Fellows, former President, American Television Group,
"I picked up the book Sunday evening and finished it Monday. Wow, this is an incredible book! Jacqueline Lloyd has written a page turner. I couldn't put the book down. It is uncanny how she understands politics, and her insights into human nature are wonderful. I have given this book to others who agree - it is spell binding and a must read! The lessons are clear - at least to those of us with awareness awakened. Perhaps it will awaken others." -A. Colangelo,
"Your book was great. I plowed through it; it kept me up until midnight on a work night because I HAD TO finish it. Nice Grateful Dead Play on page 191. I need a miracle every day, too!" -B. Zantjer,
"I read this book in just a few days!! I love Ludlum, Clancy, Baldacci books, and if you do too, this is a must read! Besides being one of those rare books that I have to read in a weekend because I couldn't wait to know what happened next (so be prepared for late nights), it's also got a plot line that is oddly familiar to current events with our government and war. As a "pro-Peace" person, I especially loved this book for its cleverness, it's real-life reverberations, and it's reflection of truth. You won't regret reading it. I'm telling my friends about it...word of mouth works!" -L. Choate, Denver, CO
"The Thief Of Sacred is a page-turning, action-packed story full of conspiracy, intrigue, and political twists that keep you captive to the last page. It's downright eerie that Lloyd wrote this before 9/11. This book reads like an action movie- it grabbed my attention right from the beginning and kept me hooked until the very end. With mastery, Lloyd interweaves an interesting array of believable characters in a plot of conspirators, savvy politicians, treacherous allies, clandestine operations, surprise attacks, terrorism, behind-the-scenes
"Lloyd's novel, The Thief Of Sacred, compares favorably with such thrillers as Follett's Eye of the Needle and Grisham's A Time To Kill. Like those two novels, The Thief Of Sacred keeps the suspense level, and the reader's interest, high throughout the book. The epilogue has the flavor of Brown's The Davinci Code. The movie industry would love this novel. Reading Lloyd's novel is certainly time well spent. It is a very good novel, and for a first novel, it is outstanding." -D. Cosentino,
"I highly recommend The Thief of Sacred. It is a tight, well-crafted thriller that will keep you up way too late because you can't put it down! This is the best kind of book: you find yourself rooting for the key characters and gritting your teeth when things aren't going their way. The plot is full of unexpected twists; the ending answers lots of questions and uncovers deeper ones, so you put the book down wanting MORE! As pure entertainment, The Thief of Sacred is great. But what's even better is the integrity of the characters, showing us what the American Presidency could be and another way for our country to interact with the other countries on the planet. And it's positively uncanny that the book was completed before 9/11. This is one you may want to read over and over again. I am eagerly awaiting publication of the sequel." -D. Lees,
"This book gets your attention from the beginning and doesn't let you go until the very end. The author's political knowledge is evident and the characters very developed with such a warmth and intelligence that you wish you could meet the central figures. If only we had such integrity and open-mindedness in our current administration. The scenario the book unveils leaves one wondering about the very real possibility of such events and questioning just how much we really know about the world at large. A very good read." -J. Brandt, CO
"The Thief of Sacred is an excellent read. It has all the elements necessary to keep a readers attention: great plot, intriguing characters, and also suspense, mystery, adventure, friendship, and love. It grabs you in the first few pages and keeps you reading till you finish the last word. Each character is well developed, and you actually feel you know them and are anxious to see what happens to them. Highly recommend this book. Beyond expectations." -R. Gregorich, CA
"I read a lot of mysteries with women as lead characters, and this book was recommended to me by a friend. Excellent read - great twisting, turning plot and cool characters. Am re-reading right now because the first time I couldn't help but speed through it to see what happens next." -J. Haskell, CA
"I don't normally read political thrillers, but I'd heard great things about this book and thought I'd check it out. After going to the author's web site (I Googled Jacqueline Lloyd), I was further intrigued, so I ordered "Thief" through Amazon. Wow - all the great things I'd heard about this book are true. After the first chapter, I completely identified with and rooted for the female lead character, Zella (I even love her name!). She is a great character/hero and is so cool I would love to have her as a mentor/friend. I couldn't wait to see what happened next and even cursed the author because at times I found myself reading this book until way too late at night. It's not often I find a book with such a great female protagonist/hero coupled with such a fast-paced, gripping story. I won't go into too many details to spoil the story... but I will say that the character development, the plot, and the author's writing style kept me curious and enthralled throughout. I can't wait to see what she writes next!" -D. Frank,
